About Uparkot Fort
Uparkot is an ancient fort in Junagadh, traditionally dated to the Mauryan era and extended many times since. Inside its walls are Buddhist caves, a former mosque, old cannons and two stepwells cut deep into the rock, Adi Kadi Vav and Navghan Kuvo. Its ramparts look out over the city towards Girnar.
