About Girnar Hills
Girnar is a sacred mountain beside Junagadh, covered with Jain and Hindu temples. A stone stairway of about 10,000 steps climbs past the Jain temples, including the 12th-century Neminath temple, and on to the Amba Mata, Gorakhnath and Dattatreya shrines on its peaks. Jains believe Neminath, the 22nd Tirthankara, attained nirvana here.
