About Diu Fort
Diu Fort is a Portuguese fort on the eastern tip of Diu island. It was begun in 1535, after a defence pact between the Portuguese and Sultan Bahadur Shah of Gujarat, and rebuilt in 1546. The sea surrounds it on three sides and a canal on the fourth, and it has bastions, old cannons and a lighthouse.
