About Sabarmati Ashram
Sabarmati Ashram, also called Gandhi Ashram, sits on the bank of the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad. Between 1917 and 1930, Mahatma Gandhi lived and worked here with his wife Kasturba and his followers, and on 12 March 1930 he set out from here on the Dandi Salt March. You can see his home, Hriday Kunj, and a museum designed by architect Charles Correa.
