About Gaurishankar Lake
Gaurishankar Lake, known locally as Bor Talav, is a large man-made lake in Bhavnagar. It was built in 1872 as a drinking-water reservoir and is named after Gaurishankar Oza, a diwan (chief minister) of Bhavnagar State. Today it is a popular picnic spot, and some migratory birds visit the lake.
